The Museum of Gasoline Alley

Here are some stunning locations in Calgary, Canada that will transport you back in time. You will study while also having fun.

Heritage Park in Calgary

Knowing what to do first is difficult when you have the option of everything from booming steam-prepared rides to collectable halfway rides to immaculately kept historic buildings and estates. Heritage Park, located in Calgary, Alberta, is Canada’s largest living history exhibition hall, with hundreds of exhibits, rides, shops, restaurants, and daily presentations and exercises to keep the young and young-at-heart engaged within the past. No two days in the Park are alike, so return as often as you like for a history lesson you won’t find in any textbook.

The Museum of Gasoline Alley

The interior of the Heritage Park The Gasoline Alley Museum may be a celebration of a mechanical plan illuminated by a storyline that follows the far-reaching social changes brought about by the vehicle’s introduction and popularisation.

The display hall houses hundreds of vehicle memorabilia items, most of which date from the Second World War.

Local businessman Ron Carey generously donated the items to Heritage Park so that they might be displayed for public enjoyment while being lawfully maintained.

The exhibit hall’s exhibits range from the turn of the twentieth century to the 1950s and include historic vehicles, unique gasoline pumps, and other items and signage from a wave of petroleum firms.

Mr Carey and his team methodically restored the majority of the items on display in the Gasoline Alley Museum.

Calgary Aerospace Museum

The Aero Space Museum of Calgary is located south of Calgary International Airport and displays over 24 planes and 58 aeronautical motors. Several of the planes come from the former “Air Museum of Canada,” which closed in 1971.

There is also a section of the gallery dedicated to Canadian space initiatives. The exhibition hall was founded in 1975 by former World War II pilots and aviation enthusiasts.

It also displays a dedication established to honour Alberta aviators killed in WWII.

Some of the planes on display are the 1936 Waco EQC-6 Custom Waco 10 Cabin Arrangement, the AEA Silver Shoot – Full-Size Replica, and the Avro Canada CF-100 Canuck, among others. The Sikorsky S-51 Dragonfly (H-5) and S-55 Horse (H-19, H04S) helicopters are also on display.

From October through May, the exhibition hall hosts a motion picture night on the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. The exhibition hall shelter is also the ideal location for weddings, meetings, and Stampede breakfasts. This is a very inexpensive destination to visit, and its proximity to the airport makes it an excellent first stop for travellers.
